Update for supporters of youth volunteering;

Surrey vInvolved is a 3 year project dedicated to creating diverse and exciting opportunities for young people aged 16 to 25 across Surrey and to supporting young people to access them. We also enable youth led action helping to raise the profile of youth volunteering throughout Surrey. The team is hosted by Reigate and Redhill YMCA in partnership with Woking and Guildford YMCAs. The project will come to completion on 31st March 2011.

Since April 2008, Surrey vInvolved has created over 8000 opportunities in everything from working with young disabled children to helping care for injured bats! Our Youth Action Teams have run events such as a talent showcase and a fashion show to raise money for local charities. We have worked with more than 300 organisations to ensure great support for young volunteers and over 2000 young people have got involved in thousands of volunteering placements!

We want to say ‘thank you’ to all the organisations and individuals such as yourself who have worked with us to make it possible for so many young people to make a difference to their local communities.

We also want to celebrate these achievements and the impact of these young volunteers. So, although the project will end on March 31st 2011 we are proud of the huge changes we have seen such as increasing the positive image of young people and the value of volunteering for individuals and communities.
