In July, eight vinvolved volunteers spent two days on a grounds clearance and maintenance project at The Orpheus Centre in Godstone. The main task was to clear an area of thick overgrown vegetation round a hidden lake in preparation for a path being built to enable wheelchair using residents to access the area. The volunteers also performed other maintenance tasks, including clearing a large barn of rubbish and loading it onto skips.

The Orpheus Centre is a residential performing arts base for young disabled people, with physical and/or sensory impairments. The volunteers were provided with lunch, given a tour of the centre and had the chance to meet with resident ‘apprentices’

Vinvolved has done other team projects with The Orpheus Centre which also has a range of more regular volunteering opportunities for young people who want to help this high-profile and exciting charity.
